About Me

Welcome to my passion. As a doula mentor, author, speaker, and self-defense instructor, I’ve supported thousands of families. Not in a "Let me check my files," way, but in a sitting on their sofa, petting the cat, exploring their family photos kind of way. I’m there for the successes and have scrambled again and again to create customized solutions.

My education and experience equip me with many answers, the most important being that I don’t have all the answers. Also that the people I’m supporting usually do—they just need the confidence to trust themselves.

In addition to learning from the families I serve, my professional relationships keep me up to date and introduce me to new concepts. These are brilliant, caring experts whose insights are woven into our products, as well.

I offer guided workshops on a unique, practical, non-physical, and reality-based form of self defense for women (see link at bottom).

I’ve done a lot of presenting and speaking, both throughout the US and internationally. From presenting to hundreds of conference attendees to over a thousand hours of doula workshops, I thoroughly enjoy sharing what I do and learning from attendees.

Just as our MIG customers are experiencing life transitions, I’m experiencing one, too. My focus is now bringing this personalized approach to a wider audience. I’m learning on my feet, just like you. I’m having challenges and successes, just like you. In other words, I get it. Let’s do this together.

Here are some examples of the work I’ve done in the field of family connection.

I “Wrote the Book” on Supporting New Families.

Written for doulas and others who support growing families, this second edition of my book is required reading for doula training programs.
