Get ready to be ready.
A deck of prompts and conversation starters to help you navigate the first weeks and months of parenting in a way that feels more like game night and less like homework — because it’s about you. You’re the focus. Sure, there’s plenty of practical tips from both experts and parents who’ve been there, just a little ahead of you. But unlike traditional parenting guides, FACE Cards: New Parent Edition are about trying things on. The prompts are designed to spark curiosity, conversation, and a clearer sense of how you want to parent in real life.
WHO — New parents, partners, and anyone you trust to be part of your circle. This is your game, so you choose the players.
WHEN — Explore ideas and strategies for newborn care, postpartum recovery, and early parenting. Play when you have 2 minutes. Play when you have an hour. Or anything in between.
WHERE — Intentionally travel-sized so you can bring it everywhere. Use them at the kitchen table with your “face the day” coffee. Take them to a coffee shop for a quick check-in. Bring them along on a weekend visit to the grandparents.
HOW—
-
Choose one or more cards, read the prompts, and think it through. Or talk it through, if you’re playing with someone else. The simplest version. Calm, no pressure.
-
Gamify it. Award points for sharing ideas or solutions.
-
Bold version: Same as Option 2, but this time as a communication tool with someone who might answer differently from you. It’s not you bringing it up — it’s the cards.
THE RESULT — Feeling connected with your partner, more supported by your people, and more confident in navigating life with your baby. Plus, a growing sense that you already know more than you thought you did.
Created by an experienced doula mentor, these prompts are crowd-sourced, tested, and approved by real families in their first year of parenting.
